…
I either want to smell like a freshly baked cookie or an auto body shop and Akro Ink is giving Jiffy Lube. It’s a magic potion of birch, jasmine, leather and vetiver that feels like something you’d dig out of the La Brea tar pits: cold, smokey and metallic with a white floral border that reminds you that you’re wearing perfume and not WD40. This line was developed by the same perfumer who did Mugler’s Angel and every single frag is a work of art— Akro Night smells like a brothel powder room (baby wipes and sweaty skin) and Akro Smoke smells just like a fresh pack of unlit cigarettes.
Each perfume in the line is based on a different vice (brilliant), and Ink is designed to smell like a tattoo shop. I can’t speak to that because I’ve never been in one but if you like Fzotic Lampblack, Salome from Papillon, or just the smell of new plastic toys you will love this. It’s actually insanely wearable. I got a tiny 30ml bottle that I am rapidly draining; I dose myself in this like an oil slick and when people don’t ask me about my perfume I turn on my heels in a huff.
It’s a great frag for when you’re feeling moody, brainy and nonconformist — Ink will make the wrong people confused and the right people intrigued.
Have you smelled Lorenzo Pazzaglia
Cherry Ink? I got a sample from Lucky Scent last month.
